Workshops - Eddie Chinn - Penny Lane Actors Agency

We are absolutely delighted to announce that Eddie Chinn has joined the PLAA team.

Eddie is also an exceptional teacher with over 20 years of experience coaching actors of all ages across the UK.

After graduating from the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (LIPA) and performing in theatres throughout the UK and Europe, Eddie moved into training young performers—something he has become truly renowned for.

Eddie will be supporting our clients with:
• Monologue coaching
• Self‑tape preparation
• One‑to‑one sessions
• Confidence building
• General performance development

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with someone of such calibre, dedication, and experience. Feedback from clients who have already worked with Eddie has been incredibly positive, and having him onboard will only strengthen and elevate the agency.

Session Prices
• £15.00 for 30 minutes
• £20.00 for 1 hour
• £25.00 for extended sessions

Eddie is available face‑to‑face in Liverpool or the Wirral, or online via Teams.

The environment Ed works in is always so easy going and comfortable that you just get to be as creative as possible and i saw genuine improvements to my ability like straight away. Always worth popping him a message for anything, i surely do haha!!

I've just finished my second 1 to 1 with Eddie this week and I just want to let you know how helpful it's been. I've really been struggling with small parts of an accent and he's been able to guide me beyond where I thought id be in a month never mind 45 mins!

Thank you so much for all of your help with my monologue, the advice you gave really helped me a lot and I think it helped me to belive what I was saying a lot more as you said to use real experiences to feel what I was saying. My monologue is definitely a lot more dramatic and interesting now as it has a lot more contrast of emotions, thank you so much!!

Eddie’s help on self tapes. Had to film one myself yesterday and we broke the scene down and he helped me so much when it came to understanding the text and getting a more nuanced and authentic performance. Can’t recommend it enough even if it gives you just that extra edge in your own future auditions.

Enjoyed today's session. Lots to think about re character/backstory/motivation not just the words - loved the Uta Hagen questions and the thought/emotion plotting. And thought Eddie's direction was really great.

Eddie is an amazing teacher aswell as a great person. Not only are his working methods grounded, useful at all levels of the craft, and outstandingly conveyed. He also manages create an environment in which people feel they can unwind and experiment, and mostly importantly, have fun.

Edward is just a full on legend in every way shape possible. He really gave me the confidence to play with the comedy aspects, but still keeping true to who I am as an actor and also gave me massive scope fitting the tone of the show. Best extra pair of eyes I could have hoped for. I think everyone should get Eddie for a self tape if he’s available - he’s brilliant x

Eddie has supported Isla to record a number of self tapes and his help has been invaluable. He’s a great teacher and a nice guy and it’s really boosted her confidence about the quality of the self tapes she has sent and about her acting abilities in general.

I've just finished a 1 to 1 with Eddie and I just wanted to tell you all how excellent the session was! I've been working on the standard American accent for a while now and this session really helped to solidify it, he helped with going through any differences and energy levels and bringing it to life!
